The official Web site of the City of Banja Luka (www.banjaluka.rs.ba) won the first prize of the hi-tech magazine "Mobil-info". The prize was voted by readers in the competition participated by the best public administration Web portals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Department for Public Relations reported.

"Mobil-info" organized a formal ceremony, which took place on December 13, 2008 in Banja Luka`s hotel "Fortuna", in order to present the awards for the best Web portals in the field of public administration, financial institutions and IT companies.  

Mrs Nevena Blagojević-Podrić, the Head of the PR Department, received the award on behalf of the City. She stated that Banja Luka was among the first local communities in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina that had realized the significance of communication via a Web-based presentation. She reminded that the City of Banja Luka had been awarded the first prize for its Web site in the category of transparency at the competition for the selection of the best local administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Namely, the City of Banja Luka Web site was launched in December 2002, whereas the new one was promoted on December 2, 2008.
