Banja Luka will be hosting the World Championships in Rafting from May 17 to May 24 this year in the organization of the Rafting Club "Kanjon" ("Canyon"). Taking into consideration that this is a very important competition, we started with the preparations as early as the last year so that Banja Luka would be presented in the best possible light.

"Fifteen different commissions have been established in order to have the best possible organization of the event. The Organizational Board, chaired by Mayor, Dragoljub Davidović, has had several meetings so far. All I can say is that everything goes just the way we have planned", Aleksandar Pastir, Rafting Club "Kanjon" president, said. 

Sixty teams from all over the world should take their participation in the Rafting Championships. The competitions will take place at the Vrbas River, whereas downriver races will be held at the Tara River.
