- Banks are open from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m, with a slight exception of some of them working until 6 p. m. on weekdays. On Saturdays working time is until 2 p. m... Sunday and holidays are non-working days for banks;
   
- Almost all banks have their automated teller machines placed all over Banja Luka where you can get your money 24 hours a day;
 
- Sunday is a non-working day and no public local or state institution is open on that day (except for the Emergency, Police, Communal Police and Firefighter duty services). Shops, kiosks and supermarkets are open until 4 p. m. on Sundays;

- In most of the hotels, motels, restaurants, shops and supermarkets debit cards may be used as well (VISA, MAESTRO);

- Smoking is not allowed in any of the public institutions (City Administration, Government of the Republic of Srpska, outpatient clinics, Clinical Center, post-offices, police stations…)
