On December 09 the contract on the Project "Rehabilitation and construction of water supply and sewerage collection infrastructure in Banja Luka" was signed in the Banja Luka city administration.
The €17.597.329,24 contract was signed on behalf of the City of Banja Luka by Mayor Dragoljub Davidović and on behalf of the contractor, Consortium „Ludwig Pfeiffer-Niskogradnja-Hidrokop", by Slobodan Pilipović, a representative of the Ludwig Pfeiffer Company.
Mayor Davidović said that the signing date was of great significance to Banja Luka as that was the biggest project in the city in the last ten years. He also explained that the project consisted of two parts - the first one being the water supply system reconstruction and construction and the second one being the rehabilitation and construction of sewage system. The project`s implementation will be assisted by the German Government, that is by the KfW Bank, by the EU and partly by the City of Banja Luka.
After the completion of works additional 36 kms of the urban water supply network will be constructed along with 25 kms of sewage system.
Slobodan Pilipović, the Ludwig Pfeiffer Company representative, said that the deadline for the completion of works was 29 months and announced that the works would start in about a month.
The general manager of the KfW Bank Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stephan Leudesdorff, gave his appreciation to all those who were part of the project so far. He said that the project preparation had been well organized and that this project was the KfW`s biggest infrastructural project at the moment.
„We came to Banja Luka for the project because we trusted the Mayor and the capabilities of the local administration. I am convinced that the works will be done in an efficient and qualitative manner", Leudesdorff said.
