Delibašino selo is a place that traces back the very beginnings of Banja Luka`s industry, which has its origin in the arrival of the Trappists to this region in 1869. They had come from the French monastery La Trappe as a Roman Catholic religious order and were permitted by the then Turkish government to establish their community in the region. Soon after they built a genuine agricultural, craft and industrial complex, developing the production of beer, cheese, pasta, fabrics. They also built a monastery, a hydroelectric plant, a mill, a printing house, a brickyard, a smithy, a quarry, a bakery, and other facilities.
As a contemplative order, the Trappists were vowed to live a life of silence, penance, work and prayer.
